  • Information Decisions taken by breeders at different time points (stages) of the breeding process to advance or discard a selection unit (plant, animal, progeny, progenitor, clone, experimental variety or breed) and guided by the breeding priorities, using specific decision-making tools (e.g., assessments of the targeted traits, estimates of breeding value, presence/absence of specific markers, selection indices, combining ability).
