  • Information A laboratory process in which an individual’s germline DNA is analyzed for specific nucleotides or bases to determine whether certain variants are present. Genotyping differs from sequencing in which all of the nucleotides comprising a specific length of DNA are assessed (e.g., within a gene, exome, or genome).

  • Information Proceso de laboratorio para analizar el ADN de la línea germinal de un individuo con el fin de identificar nucleótidos o bases específicas que permiten determinar la presencia de ciertas variantes. El genotipado es diferente de la secuenciación, en la que se analizan todos los nucleótidos de un segmento de ADN con una longitud específica (por ejemplo, en un gen, en el exoma o en el genoma).
