Exclosures are areas that involve excluding unwanted species or practices from (degraded) sites. Exclosures are generally land areas which are traditionally ‘open access’, where wood cutting, grazing and other agricultural activities are forbidden or strictly limited in order to promote the restoration and natural regeneration. They can also be used in aquatic contexts. (en)
