Concepto genérico

Nota de alcance

  • Wetlands that accumulate peat deposits. Fens are less acidic than bogs, deriving most of their water from groundwater rich in calcium and magnesium. A fen is located on a slope, flat, or depression and gets its water from both rainfall and surface water. It may be slightly acidic, neutral or alkaline, either nutrient-poor or nutrient-rich. (en)
