  • Information A guild is defined as a group of species that exploit the same class of environmental resources in a similar way. This term groups together species, without regard to taxonomic position, that overlap significantly in their niche requirements. The guild has a position comparable in the classification of exploitation patterns to the genus in phylogenetic schemes.
