Protein-rich meal derived from processing (boiling, pressing, drying, grinding) whole fish (usually small pelagic fish or bycatch) as well as residues and by-products from fish processing plants (fish offal). Used mainly as agriculture feeds for domestic livestock (poultry, pigs, cattle, etc.) and as aquaculture feeds for carnivorous aquatic species.

Tüm balık veya balık konservesi kalıntıları veyahut balığın yağı, derisi, karaciğeri ve benzeri kısımları alındıktan sonra kalanının kurutulup öğütülmesi suretiyle elde edilen, genellikle %55-72 arasında ham protein ve %2-14 arasında ham yağ içeren, pratikte kullanılmakta olan yem maddeleri içerisinde proteinin biyolojik değerliliği en yüksek olan, kanatlı ve domuz beslemede protein ve özellikle elzem amino asitlerin sağlanmasında önem taşıyan su ürünleri kalıntısı.
