  • Information Any waste material that, when improperly handled, can cause substantial harm to human health and safety or to the environment. HAZMAT can take the form of solids, liquids, sludges, or contained gases, and they are generated primarily by chemical production, manufacturing, and other industrial activities. They may cause damage during inadequate storage, transportation, treatment, or disposal operations.
