  • Catástrofe: hace referencia a una interrupción grave en el funcionamiento de una comunidad o sociedad de cualquier tamaño provocada por acontecimientos peligrosos que, en combinación con condiciones de vulnerabilidad, exposición y capacidad, ocasionan uno o más de los siguientes efectos: víctimas humanas y pérdidas y repercusiones materiales, económicas y ambientales.
