DEFINITION

  • Peduncle disease is a chronic disease of fish, that occurs more often in cold water fishes and may be reported among warm-water fishes. Disease caused by Flavobacterium psychophilum or Cytophaga psychophila and characterized by tissue necrosis of tissue at the base of the caudal fin (the caudal peduncle). (en)
