  • Information Experimental fishing is designed to test new or modified harvest technology or methods of fishing in established fisheries; assess the presence, distribution or other biological characteristics of fish stocks, with the intent of developing additional fishing opportunities in established fisheries, or maximise the value and marketability of fish or fish products from established fisheries.
