Disaster preparedness consists of a set of measures undertaken in advance by governments, organisations, communities, or individuals to better respond and cope with the immediate aftermath of a disaster, whether it be human-induced or caused by natural hazards. The objective is to reduce the loss of life and livelihoods. (European Commission. 2023. Genomic regions associated with complex quantitative traits governed by several large effect as well as smaller effect genes. Special statistical software is needed to identify the locations and effects associated with these regions. (Rajeev K. Varshney, Abhishek Bohra, Jianming Yu, Andreas Graner, Qifa Zhang, Mark E. Sorrells, Designing Future Crops: Genomics-Assisted Breeding Comes of Age, Trends in Plant Science, Volume 26, Issue 6, 2021, Pages 631-649, ISSN 1360-1385, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.tplants.2021.03.010.)
From the perspective of the country of arrival, the act of moving into a country other than one’s country of nationality or usual residence, so that the country of destination effectively becomes his or her new country of usual residence. Agrobiodiversity is the diversity of crops and their wild relatives, trees, livestock, fish, microbes and other species that contribute to agricultural production. (Biodiversity Integrated Assessment and Computation Tool, FAO, 2020 (http://www.fao.org/3/ca8762en/CA8762EN.pdf).)
Process by which an individual assimilates information, ideas and values and thus acquires knowledge, know-how, skills and/or competences. (Cedefop (2008). Terminology of European education and training policy – A selection of 100 key terms. Luxembourg: Publications Office.)

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is devoted to promoting social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights, pursuing its founding mission that social justice is essential to universal and lasting peace. The only tripartite U.N. agency, since 1919 the ILO brings together governments, employers and workers of 187 Member States, to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programmes promoting decent work for all women and men. Activities and measures to avoid existing and new disaster risks. (United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). 2017. The Sendai Framework Terminology on Disaster Risk Reduction. "Prevention". Accessed 17 March 2026. https://www.undrr.org/terminology/prevention.)
Note
Disaster prevention expresses the concept and intention to completely avoid potential adverse impacts of hazardous events. While certain disaster risks cannot be eliminated, prevention aims at reducing vulnerability and exposure in such contexts where, as a result, the risk of disaster is removed. Examples include dams or embankments that eliminate flood risks, land-use regulations that do not permit any settlement in high-risk zones, seismic engineering designs that ensure the survival and function of a critical building in any likely earthquake and immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases.

Information pertaining to the location, spatial dimensions and relationships of objects in multidimensional space, and may be represented as points, lines, areas, surfaces, polygons or pixels with their associated coordinates or topology. (NALT https://lod.nal.usda.gov/nalt/977)
Note
The terms "spatial data" and "geospatial data" both emphasize the importance of location in the data, and which is used often depends on the specific context.
Product. Goods and services which are the result of production processes normally intended for sale on the market at a price that is designed to cover their costs of production.
