Tissue cells bearing basophilic granules similar to but smaller than those of blood basophil leukocytes
Active immunity results when exposure to a disease organism triggers the immune system to produce antibodies to that disease. Active immunity can be acquired through natural immunity or vaccine-induced immunity. (CDC, 2024. Immunity Types https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/immunity-types.htm)
Direct ELISA is the simplest format requiring an antigen and an enzyme-conjugated antibody specific to the antigen. (Lin, A.V. (2015). Direct ELISA. In: Hnasko, R. (eds) ELISA. Methods in Molecular Biology, vol 1318. Humana Press, New York, NY. https://doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4939-2742-5_6)
La Niña is a climate pattern in the Pacific Ocean that can affect weather worldwide. La Niña has the opposite effect of El Niño. During La Niña events, trade winds are even stronger than usual, pushing more warm water toward Asia. Off the west coast of the Americas, upwelling increases, bringing cold, nutrient-rich water to the surface.
