Pruning shears, also called hand pruners (in American English), or secateurs (in British English), are a type of scissors for use on plants. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pruning_shears)
The ovine pathogen Salmonella enterica serovar Abortusovis (SAO), a pathogen strictly adapted to ovine hosts, is endemic in several European and Asian countries, where it causes significant economic losses due to the high rates of abortion in infected flocks. (Amagliani G, La Guardia ME, Dominici S, Brandi G, Omiccioli E. Salmonella Abortusovis: An Epidemiologically Relevant Pathogen. Curr Microbiol. 2021 Dec 7;79(1):3. doi: 10.1007/s00284-021-02689-1. PMID: 34878615.)
Customs Duty is a tariff or tax imposed on goods when transported across international borders. Lakes and pools with waters fairly rich in nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) and dissolved bases (pH often 6-7). Communities e.g. of Littorelletea uniflorae and Isoeto-Nanojuncetea. Many unpolluted lowland lakes and ponds are naturally mesotrophic, and support dense beds of macrophytes, which are absent in polluted waters. Beds of charophytes can occur in mesotrophic (C1.25) as well as in oligotrophic (C1.14) waters. (European Environment Agency. EUNIS, the European Nature Information System. Permanent mesotrophic lakes, ponds and pools. https://eunis.eea.europa.eu/habitats/723)
Abscission is the shedding of various parts of an organism, such as a plant dropping a leaf, fruit, flower, or seed. In zoology, abscission is the intentional shedding of a body part, such as the shedding of a claw, husk, or the autotomy of a tail to evade a predator. In mycology, it is the liberation of a fungal spore. In cell biology, abscission refers to the separation of two daughter cells at the completion of cytokinesis. Organic compound that contains the group. An example is glyceraldehyde. Can be oxidized to an acid or reduced to an alcohol. (Alberts B, Johnson A, Lewis J, et al. Molecular Biology of the Cell. 4th edition. New York: Garland Science; 2002. Glossary. Available from: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK21052/)
The hard exterior coverings of eggs of birds or reptiles. (Adapted from Tacon, A.G.J., 1987. The nutrition and feeding of farmed fish and shrimp - A training manual 2. Includes vitamin and mineral supplements in unit dose forms such as capsules, tablets, powders, solutions, etc. where national jurisdictions regulate these products as food. (FAO & WHO. 2023. The yellow part of an egg, containing vitellin and other proteins, and serving as nourishment for the embryo and (often) larvae. (FAO. 1978. Glossary of inland fishery terms, EIFAC Occasional Paper No. 12 https://www.fao.org/4/ae987b/AE987B01.htm)

A customs union is an agreement between two or more countries to remove trade barriers and lower or eliminate tariffs. Members of a customs union generally apply a common external tariff on imports from non-member countries. (Business Development Bank of Canada, 2024. Glossary. An egg is the organic vessel containing the zygote in which an embryo develops until it can survive on its own, at which point the animal hatches. Reptile eggs, bird eggs, and monotreme eggs are laid out of water and are surrounded by a protective shell, either flexible or inflexible. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egg)

The Kjeldahl method or Kjeldahl digestion in analytical chemistry is a method for the quantitative determination of nitrogen contained in organic substances plus the nitrogen contained in the inorganic compounds ammonia and ammonium (NH3/NH4+). Without modification, other forms of inorganic nitrogen, for instance nitrate, are not included in this measurement. This method was developed by Johan Kjeldahl in 1883. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kjeldahl_method)
An experimental design in which two or more factors, each with discrete possible values or "levels", and whose experimental units take on all possible combinations of these levels across all such factors. The design provides information on the average effect of the individual factors as well as the interaction between these two factors. (http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/AGRO_00000331)
