The oscillation of water around an ocean basin is called an amphidromic system and causes the high tide wave crests and low tide wave troughs to move around ocean basins in a clockwise (S. Hemisphere) or counterclockwise (N. Hemisphere) pattern. In the center of this rotating wave is a node where the tidal range is zero. These systems have been found to occur in all the ocean basins except the Southern Ocean, where tide crests and troughs simply move east to west. (http://www.iupui.edu/~g115/mod12/lecture07.html)
Eulerian current measurement: The measurement of current by an instrument fixed in space, for example, a moored current meter or a bottom-mounted acoustic Doppler current profiler. The Eulerian current is computed by averaging the measured fluid velocity over a suitable interval (usually a few minutes). (https://glossary.ametsoc.org/wiki/Eulerian_current_measurement)
Gene pyramiding: the process of introducing desirable genes into a single genotype from different donor sources. This is also known as gene stacking. (Rajeev K. Varshney, Abhishek Bohra, Jianming Yu, Andreas Graner, Qifa Zhang, Mark E. Sorrells,

Rice grassy stunt virus affects rice crops in areas where continuous and year-round rice growing is practiced. The virus is transmitted between plants by insect vectors. (http://www.knowledgebank.irri.org/training/fact-sheets/pest-management/diseases/item/rice-grassy-stunt)
A dimensionless index that describes, in relative form, the difference between the near-infrared and red reflectance of land cover areas. It can be used to assess the vegetation cover over an area, because healthy vegetation has a high reflectance in the near-infrared band and low reflectance in the red band.
