Health policies are the decisions, plans, and actions that are undertaken to achieve specific healthcare goals within a society. (Adapted from WHO, 2023. https://www.who.int/health-topics/health-systems-governance)
Nutrition policy is a statement by an authoritative body (usually the government) of its intent to act in order to maintain or alter the food supply, nutritional status, or some other indicator in society. It is distinct from ‘food policy’ since food policy does not explicitly incorporate public health concerns. (Johanna T. Dwyer, Nutrition Policy, Reference Module in Food Science,
Elsevier, 2016, ISBN 9780081005965,
https://doi.org/10.1016/B978-0-08-100596-5.03326-6.)
The concept of nutritional surveillance is derived from disease surveillance, and means "to watch over nutrition, in order to make decisions that lead to improvements in nutrition in populations". (Nutritional surveillance, Bulletin of the World Health Organization, 61(5):745-755 (1983))
Any interaction which results in negative effects on human social, economic or cultural life, or on the conservation of crocodilian species and/or their habitats. (http://www.iucncsg.org/pages/Human%252dCrocodile-Conflict.html)
Meat that is dark brown in colour after it has been cooked and is derived from mammalian ruminant and monogastric livestock species such as: cattle, buffalo, goat, sheep, pig, dromedary, Bactrian camel, horse, donkey, yak. An information processing system, together with associated organizational resources such as human, technical, and financial resources, that provides and distributes information. (ISO/IEC 2382-1:1993(en) Information technology — Vocabulary — Part 1: Fundamental terms. https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:std:iso-iec:2382:-1:ed-3:v1:en)
The various plant populations (species) that live in the same habitat or environment, typically with one or more dominant species. (http://agclass.nal.usda.gov/mtwdk.exe?k=default&l=60&w=355&n=1&s=5&t=2)
Plum pox virus (PPV) is the etiological agent of sharka, the most devastating and economically important viral disease affecting Prunus species. The PPV genome consists of a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA. (Ilardi V, Tavazza M. Biotechnological strategies and tools for Plum pox virus resistance: trans-, intra-, cis-genesis, and beyond. Front Plant Sci. 2015 Jun 8;6:379. doi: 10.3389/fpls.2015.00379. PMID: 26106397; PMCID: PMC4458569.)
Poplar mosaic virus (PopMV) is widespread in all countries where poplar is grown, and causes severe economic losses in terms of quantity and quality of wood production. PopMV is isolated serologically in the genus Carlavirus, (Carra A, Brocchi E, Simone FD, Luisoni E. Improved serological diagnosis of Poplar mosaic virus with monoclonal antibodies. J Virol Methods. 2005 May;125(2):173-9. doi: 10.1016/j.jviromet.2005.01.014. PMID: 15794987.)
Porcine stress syndrome (PSS) is a hypermetabolic and hypercontractile syndrome triggered by anesthesia or various stressors that cause a sustained increase in sarcoplasmic calcium ion (Ca2+). The main consequence of PSS in humans and swine is the appearance of malignant hyperthermia (MH). (Popovski ZT, Tanaskovska B, Miskoska-Milevska E, Andonov S, Domazetovska S. Associations of biochemical changes and maternal traits with mutation 1843 (C>T) in the RYR1 gene as a common cause for porcine stress syndrome. Balkan J Med Genet. 2017 Mar 8;19(2):75-80. doi: 10.1515/bjmg-2016-0039. PMID: 28289592; PMCID: PMC5343334.)
The Cadastre is a methodically arranged public inventory of parcel-based information and data concerning all legal land and real property objects within a jurisdiction. It will contain and show the nature, size, value and legal rights, restrictions and responsibilities associated with each land and real property object. (Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping, 2020. Cadastre definitions glossary. Version 1.1 (October 2020) https://www.icsm.gov.au/sites/default/files/Cadastre%20definitions%20glossary-v1.0_0.pdf)
Note
Different countries use the term cadastre differently and this is a cause of real confusion. In some jurisdictions it is considered separate from, but linked to, the register of land rights and holders of those rights (land register), while in other jurisdictions the cadastre and land register are fully integrated.
