Moraxella is a genus of gram-negative bacteria in the family Moraxellaceae. The organisms are short rods, coccobacilli, or as in the case of Moraxella catarrhalis, diplococci in morphology, with asaccharolytic, oxidase-positive, and catalase-positive properties.
