Substrat introduit pour encourager l'attachement des larves de mollusques (naissain), en particulier afin de collecter des larves d'huîtres à la fin de leur vie larvaire, lorsqu'elles deviennent benthiques. L'on utilise par exemple des cordages, du carrelage, des morceaux de roche, des tuyaux et des pieux en bois ou en bambou.
