  • Indigenous Peoples’ fishing is an identity, cultural and spiritual activity that is passed down from generation to generation. It is based on Indigenous Peoples’ cosmogony and traditional food and knowledge systems related to aquatic ecosystems. It constitutes an important basis of the culture and livelihoods of Indigenous coastal and riverine Peoples around the world.
