  • Information Share cropping is a system of agricultural production where a landowner allows a share cropper to use the land in return for a share of the crop produced on the land. Share cropping covers a wide range of different situations and types of agreement.

  • Information Un mode de faire-valoir indirect d’une propriété foncière par lequel le propriétaire cède l’usage de sa terre à un locataire, ou métayer, moyennant une rétribution en nature représentant une part (en principe la moitié, d’où le nom) des produits de l’exploitation. Le tenancier intervient dans la prise de décision relative à la conduite des cultures. Le matériel de production, le cheptel, les semences et les engrais sont, et selon les cas, fournis soit par le propriétaire, soit par le tenancier.
