DEFINITION

  • Fowl typhoid, caused by Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica, serovar Gallinarum biovar Gallinarum (S. gallinarum), is widely distributed throughout the world, especially in developing countries. Fowl typhoid in chickens and turkeys is more often observed in the later growing period and in mature stock. Disease is often characterised by rapid spread with high morbidity and acute or subacute mortality. Red mites may be involved in the transmission of disease and persistence in poultry houses.

  • La tifosis aviar, causada por Salmonella enterica subespecie enterica, serovariedad Gallinarum biotipo Gallinarum (S. gallinarum), está ampliamente distribuida en todo el mundo, especialmente en los países en desarrollo. La tifosis aviar en pollos y pavos se observa con mayor frecuencia al final del período de crecimiento y en las parvadas de aves adultas. La enfermedad suele caracterizarse por una rápida propagación con una elevada morbilidad y una mortalidad aguda o subaguda. Las garrapatas rojas pueden estar implicadas en la transmisión de la enfermedad y en su persistencia en los gallineros.

Gallinarum), est largement répandue dans le monde, notamment dans les pays en développement. La typhose aviaire chez les poulets et les dindes est plus souvent observée à la fin de la période de croissance et chez les animaux adultes. La maladie est souvent caractérisée par une propagation rapide avec une morbidité élevée et une mortalité aiguë ou subaiguë. Les acariens rouges peuvent être impliqués dans la transmission de la maladie et sa persistance dans les poulaillers.
