DEFINITION

  • Camembert is a soft surface ripened, primarily mould ripened cheese in conformity with the General Standard for Cheese (CXS 283-1978), which has a shape of a flat cylinder or sectors thereof. The body has a near white through to light yellow colour and a soft-textured (when pressed by thumb), but not crumbly texture, ripened from the surface to the center of the cheese.

  • El camembert es un queso blando de superficie madurada y madurado principalmente con mohos de conformidad con la Norma general para el queso (CXS 283-1978), y que tiene la forma de un cilindro plano o de secciones del mismo. El cuerpo presenta un color de casi blanco a amarillo claro y tiene una textura blanda (al presionarse con el pulgar) sin ser friable, madurada desde la superficie hacia el centro del queso.

  • Le Camembert est un fromage à pâte molle, affiné en surface, principalement par des moisissures, conformément à la Norme générale pour le fromage (CXS 283-1978), qui se présente sous la forme d’un cylindre plat ou de morceaux dudit cylindre. La pâte a une couleur allant du blanc cassé au jaune pâle et une texture molle (lorsqu’on appuie dessus avec le pouce) mais non friable, affinée de la surface au centre du fromage.
