DEFINITION

  • Área é um conceito matemático que pode ser definido como a quantidade de espaço bidimensional circunscrita por um limite, ou seja, a sua superfície. O Sistema Internacional de Unidades adotou o metro quadrado (m²) como unidade padrão de área, que corresponde à superfície de um quadrado com um metro de lado. Na medição da superfície de terras são também utilizados o are, que equivale a cem metros quadrados (1 are = 100 m2), e o seu múltiplo hectare, que equivale a dez mil metros quadrados (1 ha = 10000 m2).
