DEFINITION

Gum kinos are resins produced by several plant species, for example Pterocarpus marsupium, P. erinaceus, Butea monosperma, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Dipteryx odorata and Cocoloba uvifera, also yield kinos. Kinos have found their main use in medicine for throat disorders, and are sometimes used in tanning.
