DEFINITION

  • Nutrition policy is a statement by an authoritative body (usually the government) of its intent to act in order to maintain or alter the food supply, nutritional status, or some other indicator in society. It is distinct from ‘food policy’ since food policy does not explicitly incorporate public health concerns.
