DEFINITION
-
Phenotyping is the characterization of the organism’s traits such as growth, development, architecture, physiology, health, nutrition, and yield. Phenotyping helps in understanding the complex interaction between genotype (genetic information) and the environment (environmental conditions and management), as these determine phenotype (physical characteristics, yield, stress tolerance, etc.).
