Small free–living organisms, passively floating or weakly swimming that drift with currents. (Rodriguez, J.M. 2023. Eggs and larvae of common marine fish species of northwest Africa. FAO, Rome. https://doi.org/10.4060/cc7700en)
Planosols are soils with a mostly light-coloured horizon that shows signs of periodic water stagnation and that abruptly overlies a dense, slowly permeable subsoil with significantly more clay. The name Planosols was coined in 1938 in the United States of America, where now most of them are included in the Great Groups of the Albaqualfs, Albaquults and Argialbolls. The name has been adopted in Brazil (Planossolos). (IUSS Working Group WRB. 2015. World Reference Base for Soil Resources 2014, update 2015 International soil classification system for naming soils and creating legends for soil maps. World Soil Resources Reports No. 106. FAO, Rome.)
